Mitosis | All types of art is welcome! Photography! Web Art! Drawings! Paintings! You name it! Feel free to comment on peoples work. Well here are my two. and | October 10, 2004, 1:57 PM |
hismajesty | gg, next Picaso. | October 10, 2004, 2:30 PM |
Mitosis | Just started getting into pixel art, so I made this! | October 14, 2004, 1:22 PM |
LW-Falcon | I like the Russell one, I think the colors blend well. | October 14, 2004, 11:57 PM |
Mitosis | Thanks, I made it in Maxons Cinema 4D...took a while too. Then I just did some lighting in PS. Then I named it after me for some reason. | October 15, 2004, 12:36 AM |
Mitosis | Made these last night, adding them to my portfolio as I type this. I really like them. I'm not going to put the title on my works anymore, I'm just gunna' make a big white border around them etc...What do you guys think of it? | October 15, 2004, 9:11 PM |
Spht | They look interesting. Do you plan out on paper what you're going to paint first, then spend hours doing it? Or do you slap some random colors on a digital image sheet then apply random filters? Just curious. | October 16, 2004, 2:23 AM |
hismajesty |
Do you plan out on paper what you're going to paint first, then spend hours doing it?
Yes, I do. | October 16, 2004, 2:26 AM |
Tuberload | I am fairly sure he just runs a bunch of filters. | October 16, 2004, 2:39 AM |
Mitosis | When I am doing my abstract works I do plan out the look I am going for, like if I want a liquidy effect then I use whatever options I have to do that. Yes for my liquid one up there I used the chrome filter and a lot of the charcoal ones. Copied and made new layers, adding lighting and other filters. For the second one, I used some brushes and filters too. | October 16, 2004, 3:07 AM |
KoRRuPT | He uses the "trial and error" technique, try a filter if it looks good keep it. | October 16, 2004, 3:12 AM |
Adron | Couldn't you do something like this instead? | October 16, 2004, 11:38 AM |
Mitosis |
Couldn't you do something like this instead?
Nothing shows, and I did install the plugin. Akamas what's your problem? You're the one who told me to use, "as many filters as you can, Photoshop has tons!", so thats what I am doing. Oh and by the way, I seen some of "your" work on other sites but created by someone else.... | October 16, 2004, 12:21 PM |
DrivE | Name this movie:
Oh, we have both kinds. Country AND Western!
| October 16, 2004, 2:04 PM |
Adron |

Couldn't you do something like this instead?
Nothing shows, and I did install the plugin.
That's strange. It shows up fine here. First you get an information text, then you click to start, and use up arrow to zoom in the details of the image. | October 16, 2004, 3:12 PM |
Mitosis | weird. when i do that link now it still doesn't work. well ya i can do flash animations and all, im going to get an actionscript book pretty soon so i can make it more interactive for my portfolio. right now i can do motion tweening and shit like that. | October 16, 2004, 3:46 PM |
hismajesty |
Couldn't you do something like this instead?
That's really neat~ | October 16, 2004, 4:06 PM |
KoRRuPT |
Akamas what's your problem? You're the one who told me to use, "as many filters as you can, Photoshop has tons!", so thats what I am doing. Oh and by the way, I seen some of "your" work on other sites but created by someone else....
Don't have a problem, I'm just saying you use the correct filters to achieve the correct effects. | October 16, 2004, 4:51 PM |
Adron |
link=topic=9078.msg84689#msg84689 date=1097942783]
Couldn't you do something like this instead?
That's really neat~
Yeah, isn't it? Mitosis should be making those kind of images, not the plain simple ones he's doing now ;) | October 16, 2004, 8:14 PM |
TehUser |
Mitosis should be making those kind of images, not the plain simple ones he's doing now ;)
Art is a personal expression of the artist, not "What Adron thinks looks good". On another note, I'm learning to do 3D rendering and animation, so I modeled and animated this thing. The camera work was not very good, but otherwise, I thought it turned out ok. http://user.dark-wire.net/files/hourglass.avi | October 16, 2004, 10:07 PM |
Adron |

Mitosis should be making those kind of images, not the plain simple ones he's doing now ;)
Art is a personal expression of the artist, not "What Adron thinks looks good".
Of course. I'm just saying he could make them as detailed as the one I posted a link to ;) | October 16, 2004, 11:55 PM |
KoRRuPT |
Art is a personal expression of the artist, not "What Adron thinks looks good".
Thats true, but what he's doing seems like he isn't expressing anything just a collection of random effects and filters. Unless he's actually trying to express something, if so what would that be, mitosis? Btw, your hour glass looks pretty good. | October 16, 2004, 11:57 PM |
Mitosis | I like futuristic liquid and grunge works. | October 17, 2004, 1:12 AM |
Tuberload |
Couldn't you do something like this instead?
Wow that is very cool. It would require a lot of time and effort to create something like that. | October 17, 2004, 1:31 AM |
Mitosis | It's just a bunch of images then in flash they made it zoomable. Ya those images would be time hard to color them in and all, but the flash shouldn't be too difficult. | October 17, 2004, 1:47 AM |
KoRRuPT |
I like futuristic liquid and grunge works.
When you do your liquid and grunge works what are you trying to express? | October 17, 2004, 1:48 AM |
Mitosis | For grunges usually just darkness, for the futuristic stuff it's just what I like. | October 18, 2004, 1:02 AM |
The-Rabid-Lord | Grunge would be a sign of depresion. | October 18, 2004, 4:34 PM |
KoRRuPT | Grunge can also be a sign of anger. | October 18, 2004, 6:17 PM |
Mitosis | It can be anything really from any persons point of view. | October 18, 2004, 7:09 PM |
The-Rabid-Lord | No one would really see grung as a happy look? | October 19, 2004, 2:58 PM |
Adron |
No one would really see grung as a happy look?
Lenore perhaps? | October 19, 2004, 9:38 PM |
The-Rabid-Lord | Hmm im confused...... Grunge is usually depressing IMHO. | October 19, 2004, 10:40 PM |
Mitosis | It can be interperated any way, | October 20, 2004, 12:03 AM |
Noodlez | a selective list of some of my art. if interest is shown i will post more | October 22, 2004, 5:44 AM |
The-Rabid-Lord | I like the roses picture. Its really good. | October 22, 2004, 8:09 AM |
j0k3r | Yeah, the roses one would make a sweet background/IM picture if it were resized. | October 22, 2004, 10:30 AM |

Mitosis | this is what i have added, made my own grunge brushes for it too and 3d model | October 24, 2004, 2:45 AM |

There's a flower that looks much more like a rose on that one, although no leaves. | October 24, 2004, 11:21 AM |

LW-Falcon | Looks nice, gj ;) | November 2, 2004, 10:49 PM |
TehUser | For some reason, I'm fascinated by that avatar I've seen people use with the 3D yin-yang, so to continue to improve my 3D modeling skills, I attempted a recreation. http://user.dark-wire.net/files/yinyang2.avi | November 4, 2004, 4:39 AM |
Mitosis | that's cool man | November 4, 2004, 12:49 PM |
TehUser | I made this image to just play around with materials, basically. For any serious 3D artist, it's a joke, but I ended up liking it. The whole scene consists of 5 objects: the two cubes, the text, a light to test the materials, and a camera to get that cool point of view. http://user.dark-wire.net/images/tehcubes.png | November 9, 2004, 1:15 AM |
Mitosis | It's really nice, for a background I would think. If you plan on expanding it, maybe add some textyure to the cubes? New stuff in the background? Just an idea. | November 9, 2004, 11:17 AM |
