DarkMinion | ::) Their offense is decent, their defense is godawful. They barely squeaked out a win in their home opener (btw, there were about 15k people there) against North freakin western....48-45 in double OT. Care to suck on TCU's balls anymore Hazard? | September 3, 2004, 5:52 AM |
Maddox | Texas sucks. | September 8, 2004, 1:03 AM |
Grok |
Texas sucks.
Amen! | September 8, 2004, 3:13 AM |
DarkMinion | I'll drink to that! | September 8, 2004, 7:40 PM |
DrivE | Would you care to jerk off Tech's QB from last year anymore DM? | September 9, 2004, 1:15 AM |
Grok |
Would you care to jerk off Tech's QB from last year anymore DM?
Heh. Relax, Chris Leak will be all that soon enough and you won't feel the need to look down on other second-tier teams. Hope he gets some help on the line soon. Unfortunately, this is going to be the worst year for the Gators since pre-Spurrier. | September 9, 2004, 4:25 AM |
DarkMinion | Last year: Chris Leak passed for 2435 yards, 16 TDs, 11 INTS (QB rating: 132.9) B.J. Symons passed for 5833 yards, 52 TDs, 22 INTS (QB rating: 151.3) Almost 2.4x the yards, 3.25x the TDs, and yes, 2x the INTS, but before you start crowing about that... Chris Leak: 1 INT every 29 attempts... B.J. Symosn: 1 INT every 33 attempts... Game, set, and fucking match, bitch. | September 9, 2004, 5:10 AM |
DrivE | a) Leak did not plan on starting the entire year. b) Leak = Freshman. Symons = Senior. Can you say experience? c) An interception with a spread of 4 attempts? Thats conclusive evidence of any sort of talent? d) How did Tech end up ranked? How did the Gators end up ranked? | September 9, 2004, 11:14 AM |
DarkMinion | If you weren't trying to imply that Leak was the better QB then I apologize. ::) As far as d) goes, that's completely irrelevant to this discussion. Rankings are very biased towards teams with more history, anyway. What was your ending record last year? What was ours? I think you'll find those are very similar. In fact, our only common opponent defeated you in the Swamp, the week after we had just finished beating them on the road. I wouldn't argue that Florida was better than us last year, I just wouldn't. | September 9, 2004, 9:53 PM |
DrivE | If they are so biased towards teams with history, why was TCU ranked so high again? Look who you beat, and look who we beat. Notice anything? | September 10, 2004, 1:04 AM |
Grok | For visual comparison: Texas Tech 2003 Schedule/Results Opponent Result Record SMU W 58-10 1-0 (0-0) New Mexico W 42-28 2-0 (0-0) at No. 18 Mississippi W 49-45 3-1 (0-0) Texas A&M W 59-28 4-1 (1-0) Iowa State W 52-21 5-1 (1-0) Colorado W 26-21 6-3 (1-1) at Baylor W 62-14 7-3 (2-1) vs Navy W 38-14 8-5 (2-3) Florida 2003 Schedule/Results Opponent Result Record San Jose State W 65-3 Florida A&M W 63-3 at Kentucky W 24-21 at No. 2 LSU W 19-7 at Arkansas W 33-28 No. 11 Georgia W 16-13 Vanderbilt W 35-17 at South Carolina W 24-22 Yup Florida definitely beat better competition. Now compare the losses: Texas Tech 2003 Schedule/Results Opponent Result Record at N.C. State L 49-21 at No. 22 Oklahoma State L 51-49 at Missouri L 62-31 at No. 5 Texas L 43-40 No. 3 Oklahoma L 56-25 Florida 2003 Schedule/Results Opponent Result Record at No. 9 Miami L 38-33 No. 7 Tennessee L 24-10 No. 18 Mississippi L 20-17 No. 8 Florida State L 38-34 vs No. 12 Iowa L 37-17 Florida lost to far better competition as well. I don't think anyone is trying to say that Texas Tech is yet playing at Florida's level consistently. Personally, I find it humorous that you, Hazard, need to compare Florida with Texas Tech in order to get some satisfaction. My wish for you is that you suffer through these lean years (Zook years) as badly as we did at FSU during Rix's first two years starting :) | September 10, 2004, 2:14 AM |
DarkMinion |
If they are so biased towards teams with history, why was TCU ranked so high again?
TCU began this season unranked. If you would have pulled your head out of your ass for 5 minutes, you would've realized that. And of course, I realize that Florida is a better overall program than ours, I will not say they were better or worse than we were last year, because we didn't meet on the field. At any rate, I'm not sure why I'm arguing with a T-shirt fan anyways. You types of fans make me sick. | September 10, 2004, 2:28 AM |
DrivE | Must I ask you, Grok, about the quality of the teams that Florida defeated vs. the quality of teams Tech defeated? | September 11, 2004, 9:50 PM |
