The-Rabid-Lord | I know this has been discussed but not what its like. I bought it today. This game is amazing and i dont say that too much. Graphics are amazing. The game play is excellent and exilirating. There is tons of suppense which is worse than the horror. You need a decent machine. It runs fine though on mine which is:- Windows XP AMD XP 2000+ XP ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MB 384 MB Ram It runs good on the lowest configuration. Not bad with medium detail and lowest video. Anything greater and the framrate drops seriousley. I would recomend if considering it that you want high qualitry is to run it in the optional window mode as you can get greater graphics and still be as quick just a smaller screen size. 9/10 over all. Lost a point cos of system spec needed. | September 1, 2004, 6:22 PM |
K | It's dark. The graphics are great, except 99% of the time you're switching between a dim flashlight view of things and firing wildly into the dark. I could just unplug my monitor and make shooting sounds. | September 1, 2004, 6:52 PM |
The-Rabid-Lord | What graphics card are you using. There is no lag or anything with me. | September 1, 2004, 6:55 PM |
K | GeForce 4200 Ti 64 I didn't mention any slow downs / lag? I mean the game itself is dark. The lights are off. Everywhere. You can't see anything (except with the flashlight, and you can't shoot with that out, unless you have the Ductape mod). | September 1, 2004, 6:59 PM |
The-Rabid-Lord | Oh right. Yes it is dark, if I here something I flash my light to see where it is then shoot. Where can i get the ductape mod? Edit: googled it http://ducttape.glenmurphy.com/ | September 1, 2004, 7:00 PM |
KrisL | You lose your flashlight when you get to hell, aswell as all of your weapons. So be sure to use your BFG and stuff in the delta labs. I saved all my rockets and BFG ammo and stuff in the delta labs, only to lose it when you get sent to hell. I was pretty sad 8-( EDIT: Just a tip, get good with the shotgun, cause later in the game, it becomes the only ammo that is commonly available. (I guess that depends on difficulty though) | September 1, 2004, 7:31 PM |
hismajesty | "get sent to hell" -Is that the common difficulty "Hell" or is that actually an event in the game? I hated the fact that it was dark, it was my least favorite part. I don't play anymore because I formatted my computer and I forgot to backup my saved game files and I was pretty far along and didn't/don't feel like doing it all again. :( | September 1, 2004, 7:51 PM |

[/quote] It is a level in the game. If I remember correctly, the levels go like so: Mars City 1 Mars City Underground Mars City 2 Administration Alpha Labs Sector 1 Alpha Labs Sector 2 Alpha Labs Sector 3 Alpha Labs Sector 4 EnPro Plant Communications Outside Communications Monorail Skybridge Recycling Sector 2 Monorail Delta Labs Level 1 Delta Labs Level 2A Delta Labs Level 2B Delta Labs Level 3 Delta Labs Level 4 Hell CPU Complex CPU Boss Site 3 Caverns Area 1 Caverns Area 2 Primary Excavation | September 1, 2004, 7:59 PM |
hismajesty | I was in Delta Labs 3 when I formatted, I think. Sucks. :( | September 1, 2004, 8:19 PM |
The-Rabid-Lord | Im almost at Alpha Labs 2. I played 5 hours solid. | September 1, 2004, 9:10 PM |

Wish | high quality at 1024x768 is nothing short of jaw-dropping. pentium4 2.4ghz 533FSB 768 ddr400 ram. and a * > radeon x800 pro < *. bam, suck it. i get 30-60 fps. 30 being a rediculously large firefight :D | September 15, 2004, 6:27 AM |
Magickian | Indeed I found this game to be awesome both graphically and gameplay wise as well. I think they used the door opens behind you and zombie comes out of room the size of a cubicle technique too much though. | September 25, 2004, 7:42 AM |
Newby | I was not impressed. | September 26, 2004, 2:10 AM |
St0rm.iD | My Radeon 9800 PRO had a bunch of white dots all sprinkling around. What gives? | September 26, 2004, 5:10 PM |
Wish | could be artifacts. did you overclock? does your radeon get hot? might want to check that out, artifacts lead to bad stuff, are are usually caused by the same thing. go googlewhack 'overclocking gpu' or something similar, shouldn't be hard to find some faqs or something. | October 12, 2004, 6:30 AM |
YaYYo | man that must suck for you.... | October 24, 2004, 9:35 AM |
