Ernie Sims was the #1 guy a couple years ago .. he's being kept out of pads because he's too dangerous! Yesterday he hit a guy so hard he knocked himself out, and that was after knocking out two others on previous plays .....

Q: Did Ernie Sims work out in pads today?

Bobby Bowden: Ernie Sims was not in pads. He practiced but not in pads. We are not going to let him get in pads much more. The last scrimmage we had in three plays he put two guys out (Carter and Henshaw) and then he put himself out. We are going to pull his pads off for a while and let him just run and learn plays.

Q: Does it help to take Ernie out of the practice?

Bobby Bowden: It helps us, we probably would have nobody left if we left him out there.
