hismajesty | I received this chain letter in the mail from a family member. Obviously the original sender isn't 100% clear on who exactly is after the killing of Americans, or that the majority of oil used in America is drilled in America. However, this was still pretty intresting.
GASOLINE SOLUTION! We CAN buy gasoline that is not from the Middle East. Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it. It might even be good for us! The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil. Shell............................205,742,000 barrels Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels Exxon /Mobil................130,082,000 barrels Marathon/Speedway...117,740,000 barrels Amoco.........................62,231,000 barrels If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! I think it is up to $40 /barrel now!!! THINK ABOUT IT!! Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil: Citgo....................0 barrels Sunoco............. .0 barrels Conoco............. ..0 barrels Sinclair............... 0 barrels BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels Hess...................0 barrels All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism............. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300).... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million peoplewill have been contacted . If it goes one level further, you guessed it.....THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How much would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next eight days! I would like to add one thing to this. GODBLESS AMERICA! We are paying those terrorist 12 billion a day for gas.. I think the time has come for us to take a stand and do what this article suggests.
| July 29, 2004, 1:08 AM |

My grandparents rarely email me, so I don't mind. | July 29, 2004, 2:55 AM |
Stealth | Coincidentally, the two closest gas stations to my house are a Citgo and a BP. Wait. Something's wrong. BP actually sells Amoco-branded gasoline, the two companies merged and many stores labeled "Amoco" turned into "BP". If you look closely at the pump, the gasoline is still Amoco-branded. Amoco imports Middle Eastern oil, BP does not.. what's going on? I think this document is a bit outdated. | July 29, 2004, 4:55 AM |
ChR0NiC | w00t I always use "Huskey" and "Mohawk" both are non Middle Eastern based. ;D | July 29, 2004, 5:45 AM |

TehUser | I could see the CEO of one of the companies listed as not getting their oil from the Middle East as the originator of this chain letter. | July 29, 2004, 3:11 PM |
peofeoknight | I dunno about you guys but hess is the best. I buy all my gas from them. The reason they rule is they are the cheapest gas station (consistantly, I mean they always seem to be atleast 1 cent cheaper then the rest) in my area, and they are the closest to my house. | July 30, 2004, 5:11 AM |
Stealth | I've never seen a Hess gas station. | July 30, 2004, 6:25 AM |

Trance | I get my gas at... GAS AMERICA! Well actually I don't, mostly because this is in China Town... :P I get my gas from Arco who are owned by BP. :) | August 1, 2004, 11:02 AM |
Naem | 2.15 ouch :( It's finally down to 1.95 here, that's the cheapest I've seen in a while. | August 1, 2004, 6:14 PM |
Trance | bah! we're lucky if we can get gas for less than $2.20... | August 1, 2004, 6:24 PM |
hismajesty | gas is ~$1.79 here. | August 1, 2004, 6:33 PM |
K | Georgia has one of the lower Gas Taxes in the Country. I see it from as low as $1.70 (when there are several stations nearby competing) and as high as $1.85 (near busy interstate offramps). | August 1, 2004, 7:47 PM |
peofeoknight | Im in jacksonville and getting about 1.20. | August 3, 2004, 3:04 AM |
Stealth | I get my gas from Tom's Shell... ;) No seriously, I've pumped gas at that gas station. It's on the north side, next to the park at which the event I work for early in the summer takes place. Edit: If you have problems with the first link, open it in a new tab/window. | August 3, 2004, 5:11 AM |
crashtestdummy | They really want $25 for a 8x10 print of that? | August 3, 2004, 6:31 AM |
