Ever since I've been taking a bus, I've saved tons of money. $55/month for a buspass compared to >$100/month I was spending on gas (gas is ~$3.50/gallon here), and $180 four times a year for insurance. More like $41.6956. Which is good considering it's $1/ride and he rides twice a day at least and there's ~30 days/month so he saves about 20 dollars.

It's actually $1.80 each time. And it's $55 for a student, $68 for adult, so I save money there. And technically, I ride the bus 4 times a day (it takes 2 busses to get there).

Ha! My car is the best! A '97 red Dodge Neon! Manual transmission, power NOTHING! Only one speaker works and the back passenger door is held shut by a pair of boxers. The turn signal stick is broken off two inches after it comes out of the steering colum. No glove box. Passenger side window cracked. Clutch makes squeeking noises. No dome light. Trunk does not open. Gas tank has a dent, so when the gauge says 1/2 its really just about empty. Thick white smoke comes out of the air conditioner. Drivers side door blue.

Oh hell yes, I was able to chirp the tires going into second gear tonight, on two of my runs. You're not supposed to be able to do that because of the extremely stick 18" Pirelli tires and the Volvo's computer taking 500 readings per second and adjusting prior to an actual tire slippage. Probably because there were 3 adults in the car the added weight made it possible, but I don't know. On the S60R forums and on SwedeSpeed, people were tossing around ideas of how to actually break the tires loose, and it is very hard for even those racing types.

Thats the North Face Edition Chevy Avalanche. I like it because it has all the features that I need in a truck, 4WD, plenty of torque in low gears, lots of cargo space with the removable rear window and collapsable seats, tons of towing capacity, and enough ammenities to keep me comfortable all the while.

The Escalade is a piece of shit. It's nothing but chrome and fake wood. It has next to no towing capacity even if you get the tow package, it wouldn't even come close to being efficent as an off road vehicle, and its more than 60k. It's an overgrown station wagon. It gets the worst gas mileage. Its for rich white people and wannabe gangsters and is totally useless in any sort of meaningful capacity.

The Avalanche has 5 ton towing capacity, a Vortec 5300 V8 with more low end torque than you could possibly need, tons of cargo space for dirt bikes, kayaks, etc. and tons of little amenities to make those trips comfortable. Also, I'll get mine for about 22k-25k at the most. The Escalade is a joke.

I prefer the utility of the car rather than how pretty the fenders are molded. When I'm tearing through mud on hunting trips looks don't make the least bit of difference.

Do you know of any sites that have pictures of someone driving off road with a Avalanche I looked through a couple of sites and couldn't find any. It really seems to me there are better trucks to do that in.

Bolted on a bigger exhaust, but what's with the second exhaust tip? It's single exhaust. The one on the right looks like it's just hanging off the bumper :p Not really dual exhaust. It's an inline-4 cylinder, and the header goes to the single exhaust pipe, then the back of the car shows two tips! heh.

Otherwise, looks like he put in a cold air intake, which will help thrust and responsiveness most of the time.

Tell him to do wheels and brakes next. You want big brakes on there before you start putting in more power on the engine, or you'll end up crashing it because the brakes cannot compensate for all the new power. Believe me I have 13" Brembo brakes and have used them several times already.

Not as much done to it as I saw earlier when I was workin on no sleep. For some reason I saw the intake as a turbo and the pipe running down to a intercooler. But it's still not a bad looking little car.

I've got monroe gas shocks / struts, 3 1/2" dual flowmasters, ( i dont even know what the hell the rims are but they arent stock ) Ceramic brake pads ( forget the brand ) Sony Xploded receiver / 350w 6x9's, and im getting the smaller speakers w/e i decide to go to best buy :P

Case of motor oil, along with a mag-lite (blue to match the car haha), some pool noodles, a beach ball, paper towels, and a bottle of windex. No Grok though, sorry.

The beach ball and noodles are used for a game I invented with friends one very dull summer night. It's basically field hockey, but the beach ball is the puck and the noodle is your stick. To score, you hit the oppents light post, or tree.

Edit: There's a squeegee somewhere in that trunk too, along with the dvd navigation system.

I drive a 99' Jeep Cherokee Limited. It's currently got a big dent in the side thanks to me sucking at life. My parents said I could take half of the insurance money and spend it on whatever or I can get it repaired. I'll prob. get it repaired lol.

I drive a 99' Jeep Cherokee Limited. It's currently got a big dent in the side thanks to me sucking at life. My parents said I could take half of the insurance money and spend it on whatever or I can get it repaired. I'll prob. get it repaired lol.

Find a mexican autobody shop that looks iffy, they'd fix you up for half the price of the repairs.  You'd have some hot parts, but it'd be fixed.

A few years ago my dad got my grandma's old Cavailer (she's always had a compact car, grandpa's always had suburbans) when she got a new Buick LeSebre (however you spell it) and ended up putting it in a snowbank in the middle of the road (how did the snowbank get there in the first place) like 500yds from home. Never drove that thing again. =)

I'd love to see how one would last in Canadian weather! (kidding, this was an old car, about ready to die anyhow)

It's cool -- I put it in a snowbank today. Easy fix, toss it to neutral, pull the thing that says FOUR WHEEL DRIVE on it, and stick it back in drive. :)
