soccerist | Has anyone tried to create a neo-gamei chat bot ? I know they have their little launcher program and you have to log into their other server via the launcher before you actually connect to their chat server. For anyone that doesn't know, gamei is a game server for Brood War. http://www.neogamei.net/ I'm interested in making a bot for their chat server. | July 20, 2004, 12:12 PM |

[/quote] Not necessarily true. Brood War works on fsgs, and yet some bots have trouble there because messages are different, or events don't come in the same order. Advise to original poster: Just try your favorite b.net bot! | July 20, 2004, 3:33 PM |

soccerist | With gamei, you have to run their in-house "launcher" program that logs onto a server using your username and password, and then that launcher runs the brood war program. If you try to connect to their chat server (via Brood war program) it will deny you access when you log in because you're not also logged into their server by means of the 'launcher'. I was asking if anyone had tried to hack or reverse engineer their launcher program. | July 20, 2004, 7:57 PM |
tA-Kane | I've not heard of anyone writing any such program; searched google? Alternately, try reverse engineering it yourself? | July 23, 2004, 5:05 AM |

Btw, just packet log it using Ethereal or something and it shouldn't be impossible to recreate this sequence. | July 24, 2004, 5:07 AM |
