Here we have a 5 month old thread.

If you cannot figure it out and fit in as a beneficial member of the community then go away.

What they mean is reply to ones a week or less old.

No, they mean reply to a thread with something to contribute. If it's so old that nobody has replied to it in quite a while, but you feel compelled to reply - then atleast post a solution to it, or something that people would enjoy reading. Don't post things like "yeah, i agree." or "i think i know that, but not sure." in them.
