K | I was playing this yesterday. It reminds me of the stick arranging game, if any of you have played this. | June 11, 2004, 7:20 PM |
Yoni | I didn't like this one. | June 11, 2004, 11:56 PM |
Adron |
I didn't like this one.
But you figured it? You're smart enough that it took long? :P | June 12, 2004, 12:00 AM |
Arsenic | According to the background story, I guess I'm really not smart because it took me 2 seconds to solve it. I suppose some people might struggle with this riddle for a long time depending how they see it. Just reading the title and looking at the dice, I got it right away. | June 12, 2004, 2:33 AM |
j0k3r | Played it twice so far, still don't get it. | June 12, 2004, 11:24 AM |
Arta | Me either. | June 12, 2004, 12:39 PM |
Grok | I got it the first try, but I read the text first. I do not know why it is correct. | June 12, 2004, 1:54 PM |
Arta | I went and read some open source code for it, but I won't give the answer away. I'd be interested to know how some people just know the answer intuitively though... I sat there for 10 minutes playing with some simple math and got nowehere near. | June 12, 2004, 2:56 PM |
I played with it for a few minutes before finding the answer.
[black]What lead me to finding the answer was comparing what produced high and low numbers. The highest number I got was 12 and the lowest 0. When you get those and check what numbers do and don't generate those, the solution should be getting pretty obvious.[/black]
| June 12, 2004, 3:00 PM |
kamakazie | Good one. Hint below:
Read the name carefully
| June 13, 2004, 3:28 AM |
iago | Hmm, I got all ones and left it blank, and it said "You are right there are petals" | June 13, 2004, 5:23 AM |
iago | Well, I can get the right answer every time, but I'm not really sure why it's right :) <edit> aha, I see why it works now. But I think I did it a little backwards. I agree with Adron's advice, though, that's what I did. | June 13, 2004, 5:36 AM |
Arsenic | Solving the problem depends on your perception of the dices. Like the info says, no complex math involved. I got it right away on the first try and I really thought it wasn't working correctly; I found it strange that I'd get the right results all the time. I didn't think it was that simple. | June 13, 2004, 7:10 AM |
iago |
dices
I love that word :-Y | June 13, 2004, 7:11 AM |
Arsenic | What, you don't like my multiple plurial form?! Sorry, english isn't my first language ;) I didn't know "dices" was wrong until you remarked that. | June 13, 2004, 7:28 AM |

English isn't my first language either, and I don't mind getting corrected. Getting corrected = learning, learning = good. I'll appreciate if you don't use spelling corrections as arguments in a debate though :P | June 13, 2004, 8:53 AM |
Arsenic | I really appreciate getting corrected, this makes my english better. I mean, if no one tells you you'll make the same mistakes over and over again. I don't mind as long as people don't bash me for making those mistakes that is ;) | June 13, 2004, 6:25 PM |
iago | I actually hear a lot of English people make that same mistake, so don't worry about it. But Dice is the plural form of Die. You can roll one Die or 3 Dice. But I frequently hear people say "1 dice", and I always correct them. | June 13, 2004, 6:52 PM |
j0k3r | I still don't get it. | June 13, 2004, 7:34 PM |
Adron |
I still don't get it.
I suggest noone tell. You'll most probably get it eventually, if nothing else by reverse engineering the program. Not having the answer in writing here helps encourage people to try a bit harder. | June 13, 2004, 11:50 PM |
