I have a problem and I am sure that some one here could help me. I have to learn this type of question for my exams so ill post an example i cant do and if someone could give me a solution to it it will help. Thanks

"A solid metalcone of height 100cm and base radius 70cm is melted down and recast as two identical solid cylinders of length 60 cm.
Calculate the radius of the cylinders."

Thanks for any help.

I'd guess "melted down" means the resulting cylinders have the same volume as the original cone.

Calculate the volume of the cone.
Give the radius of the cylinders an unknown name, such as "x".
Express the total volume of the cylinders as a function of x.
Equate the volume to the volume of the original cone, and solve for x.
