j0k3r |
Interesting how all of these posts occured in the last 30 minutes or so...except for the first which was about an hour. We should have these instant messaging threads more often!
Interesting note... Maybe vL could host a chat room for people to talk in, which might ease up on the useless/flame posts? | May 29, 2004, 1:06 AM |

CrAz3D | Yay botnet! | May 29, 2004, 1:53 AM |
Yoni | Mmmmmm no, not quite. | May 29, 2004, 1:54 AM |
CrAz3D | No...I'm confused AGAIN?!...forget it. Time for me to stop trying, I'm just gonna get off topic now too. Anways, what IS the chat server '...have been for a few years...'? | May 29, 2004, 1:58 AM |
LW-Falcon | op [vL]? | May 29, 2004, 2:02 AM |
Archonist | An OPEN chat room, op [vL] isn't the most open thing. | May 29, 2004, 2:09 AM |

j0k3r | I'm talking about a chat room that's linked to the forum, you can even get them for free. | May 29, 2004, 2:38 AM |
CrAz3D | That would be nice aswell. | May 29, 2004, 2:40 AM |
Forged | Then the forum would be rendered useless... | May 29, 2004, 3:44 AM |
Grok | Brilliant idea. That away, every time some punk gets pissed over something said, he DDoSs the chat server, ruining it for everyone. Do I think that will happen? No, I know it would. | May 29, 2004, 4:12 AM |
CrAz3D | Good point Grok. Forged: The chat appelt, or w/e, would just be for random chat, not w/e help. | May 29, 2004, 4:20 AM |

It seems every post on the C/C++ forum gets your treatment. It almost always turns into an argument/discussion with other members, and the original post gets lost in all the chatter. If you don't have anything to contribute, or if you don't know the answer don't post. | May 29, 2004, 4:42 AM |
Adron | It's mostly about moderating. Just prune any thread that is going off-topic, moving the offending posts to a new thread. If you want to keep a forum clean, you can. Priorities... | May 29, 2004, 8:33 AM |

Joker starting to say "Oh if you can't solve something so simple as this, then you shouldn't be learning this langauge" blah blah. The whole thread turned into an argument! | May 29, 2004, 12:48 PM |

On my thread regarding the semantic differences between typedefs and the use of #defines to define types, and implicit/explicit casting, you (Mephisto) made an entirely irrelevant post rambling on about the preprocessor. It should have been blindingly obvious that I understood what the preprocessor did, because otherwise I wouldn't have had that problem. In fact, I believe I said in the original post that I wanted to understand the semantic differences between the two. When you finally posted something worthwhile, three other people already had. But you contributes four posts before you finally got to the point. And even then, the crux of the question was not there. It's annoying at best. | May 29, 2004, 7:02 PM |
