Is there a difference between 2k3 server enterprise and 2k3 server standard? I can only download standard because the MSDN account I have reached max downloads on enterprise, so is there any differences? (Other than minor things.)

Differences which wouldn't concern someone like you who'd probably just use it as a workstation.

What do you mean by “someone like him”? Care to elaborate a little bit?

It's safe to assume that if he were to be using it for more then just a workstation, he would know his shit.

Since we are assuming things, it's also safe to assume that he is someone that has no current knowledge but is looking to gain some...

I don't know what 2k3 is but I will give it a shot.

Obviously I don't know, seeing as I'm asking. Thanks for stating the obvious. I suppose it wont make a difference and I'll just use standard instead of looking elsewhere for enterprise then.

Enterprise has a series of additional server-specific features. All of the kernel features, settings, services, etc. are all the same. You won't experience any differences for using it as a workstation comparing to Enterprise unless you're deploying specific server applications/services avaliable only in Enterprise. Additionally, there are a few services activated or disabled by default between the two versions, for instance, sound, is disabled in Enterprise and enabled in Standard by default.

Btw TuberLoad, will you just stop? You always seem to have to pick some fight or fight some kind of injustice for people...It's rather annoying. Just my opinion, and I'm sure there might be others who agree with me...

If you really cared about knowing you could've easily gotten the links that TuberLoad provided. Though as it typiaclly turns out, you can gain more information about the Windows Server Families from other reviews who are willing to tell about full-on negatives about the operating system.

I posted this before I went out today, and I just got home a little while ago. I didn't have time to go look before I left, so I started the download and posted this. I'm sorry that I had to go out with my family, I'll never do it again.

Yes, I don't see why it's necessary to jump all over somebody just because they asked a question.

As long as I see stupid stuff such as your response to his question I will continue to comment. I don't pick fights, I point out idiocy, and for the record I think you and your “know it all” attitude are pretty damn annoying.

Stop with the "I am sure others agree with me" bullshit... It is also getting rather annoying. BTW last time you tried to insult me I was a goody-goody who tries to make everything right between people, and now I am someone who always picks fights? Make up your mind idiot.

Picking fights in the sense of serving someone for their injustice on these forums. When you first presented me you were like that too. And besides, you're making it more and more clear in these posts that you're the know-it-all who thinks he knows so much more than everyone else here.

Heh, I think half of this thread should be trashed anyway.. Anyhow! I'm on 2k3 Server (standard) and I haven't had any problems yet. It seems fine for me, so I suppose I'll keep using it.

If you're using it as a workstation/gaming computer, you might want to check out this link on enabling some services that are disabled by default. I believe it was written for the beta, but it still applies.
