Myndfyr | I went to a Windows Interest Group TechTalk yesterday and won a raffle for a copy of Visual Studio .NET 2003 Academic. If anybody wants it, you can have it if you paypal me the cost of shipping it to you. I have Enterprise Architect from my MSDN subscription, and I really don't need it. I would like to know what you're going to do with it, though -- I don't want to just give away free, random software. | April 29, 2004, 4:19 PM |
Adron | I'm interested :P Never hurts to have a legitimate copy of a good tool. | April 29, 2004, 9:33 PM |
Zeller | but what are you going to do with it? :o | April 29, 2004, 11:10 PM |
OuTLawZGoSu | I'd sell it for like $20 less then it's worth. | April 29, 2004, 11:20 PM |
K | In case anyone didn't know yet, you can get a full professional version from your local university for the cost of shipping or free downloaded off the internet. If you're a student. Or know someone who is who will order it for you. | April 29, 2004, 11:25 PM |
Yup, my school has Professional for free as long as you promise to bring back the cds in 3 days :) | April 29, 2004, 11:27 PM |
Myndfyr | Mine has both the download (through MSDN Academic Alliance) and the CDs to borrow, but this is actual disks that you all can keep. | April 29, 2004, 11:54 PM |
Adron | And I'm not studying much anymore. Oh, and obviously I'd install it, what else to do with a brand new compiler? :P I have VS.NET 2002 installed right now, but there are some sources that would prefer VS.NET 2003 to compile cleanly. At least that's what I think it is, they complain about the version number being too low. | April 30, 2004, 12:15 AM |
All you have to do is go into the .sln file, and look for the first line:
Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 8.00
Change the 8.00 to 7.00. It will open in 2002. | April 30, 2004, 5:20 AM |
Adron | Ah, I've experimented with the version numbers. Not sure if it loses any settings when doing that though. Adding the files to a new project tends to work too. | April 30, 2004, 1:03 PM |
Adron | So, do you take credit cards? :P | May 1, 2004, 3:02 AM |
