Recently I installed some true type fonts from windows on my linux partition, into usr/local/fonts/ttf ( a directory I created). Then I used ttmkfdir > fonts.scale; makefontdir; to generate fonts.scale and fonts.dir. Finally, I edited my X font server config to include this path.

Now here's the question -- why do only X applications recognize these new fonts? No KDE applications seem to be aware of their existance. How can I accomplish this?
