DVX | i was reading some articles on the new "secuirity" systems. apparantly in 2003 a few big buisiness like intel and microsoft agreed on tcpa, which they plan to put into every single pc in existance on the earth.. read up on it.. to me, i think it's absolute bullshit, and microsoft trying to put an end to open-source: http://www.nyfairuse.org/action/palladium/palladium.boycott.xhtml http://software.itmanagersjournal.com/software/03/12/01/0855209.shtml?tid=26&tid=44&tid=70 http://www.againsttcpa.com/what-is-tcpa.html | February 3, 2004, 11:24 PM |
DVX | no one has any thoughts on this? | February 4, 2004, 5:22 AM |
Yoni | TCPA by itself is ok. DRM and Palladium (or, as MS has decided to rename it for no reason other than confusion, MSNGSCB) are the devil. | February 4, 2004, 1:03 PM |
DVX | indeed, but in addition, i believe microsoft changed the name because they were being charged with unfair buisiness practice, and thus simply change d the name to get out of the mess they were in... at least to the best of my knowledge.. my theory is by the time longhorn is released, the whole scheme will be out of play by law ;) | February 4, 2004, 8:03 PM |
