13-yr-Old-Newb | Okay, i'm downloading vb6.0 right now and its 192mb. Is it supposed to be that big because my computer is a piece of %#@$ and has like no memory. So if you could answer my question that would be great. Thanks, --13-yr-old-newb | November 25, 2003, 12:22 AM |

CrAz3D |
Im downloading it off of MSDN Microsoft
LOL, a legal way to do it. Well, that is most likely a trial version & yes it is that big. http://wolfness.com/VB6.zip This link should work & is full. | November 25, 2003, 12:33 AM |

iago | I don't think that's anything useful, it's the "Visual Basic Resource Kit" | November 25, 2003, 12:37 AM |
13-yr-Old-Newb | The thing im downloading is called the Visual Basic .NET Resource kit. | November 25, 2003, 12:39 AM |
iago | Yes, that's exactly what I said. I *think* this should work, it's only 7.08MB: http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/downloads/tools/cce/default.aspx I won't guarentee it, though, but try it | November 25, 2003, 12:40 AM |
13-yr-Old-Newb | What the hell is that. It says 5.0 in it and it has something to do with creation im pretty sure that aint it. | November 25, 2003, 12:42 AM |
iago | I posted on one of your other thread to get "Control Creation Edition", and that's exactly what it is. I just installed it, and it works fine. It's actually a completely 100% free Visual Basic interpreter. The downside is that it's VB5.0 and you can't generate .exe, but it WILL let you experiment with the language. http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/downloads/tools/cce/default.aspx gogo! | November 25, 2003, 12:45 AM |
13-yr-Old-Newb | %#@^!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just downloaded a god damn 200mb program that does nothing. DAMNIT. | November 25, 2003, 12:47 AM |
iago |
Anyway, back to your original question. It has been answered before, but I'll answer it again anyway. Is there a library nearby you can get books from? Do you live near a university? The libraries there are much nicer, but you would have to sit inside it and read, since you wouldn't be able to get a card from there. You can get example code from www.pscode.com, but you would need a compiler. If you want to learn C++ (it's harder, but better eventually), there are plenty of free ones, like Dev-C++, but if you want visual basic it's harder. There was a free version of VB release called VB 5.0 CCE, or Control Creation Edition. It's limited, and you can't output to .exe files, but it's a legal free version. And, like I've said before, I neither support nor condone piracy, but I won't stop you from trying. That being said, I have a lot of eBooks for VB or C++ or anything else that I can download/send you if you have icq or msn or aim. My contact information is at the left ( <--- ) if you want to add me to your list on any of them. Hope this helps! -iago
You really ought to read my posts :P btw, nobody told you to do that 200MB download, that was your idea! | November 25, 2003, 12:54 AM |
