Diablo 2 Expansion Hardcore Useast Ladder is where I play... That's really damn specific, I don't think blizzard should give us so many options to play from.

Man, theres a bid on ebay for an UnId shako going for 100$.

Grok and I can personally vouge that even though 1.10 adds a fair amount of replay if you're still sick of the thought of Diablo II from playing it so much before your opinion won't change much. 1.10 is great, makes it alot harder and being power acted just isn't possible, even if you're rushed you have twice as many quests to do and in short Catacombs lvl 3, Durance of Hate lvl 3, and Worldstone whatever before baal lvl 3 are -much- bigger. On top of this to get to the waypoints right before mephisto or baal you must kill the council which means getting khalims will and going to travincal, and for baal you must kill the ancients first. Hell is also much harder, Items are scarce so no matter what level you are you could die if you're not that good and its much much harder to get to lvl 99. When they reset the ladder in 1.09d, someone was lvl 99 within 2 days. Now its been over a month. Bottom line? Despite added challenge, items, and the diablo clone which spawns an amazing unique charm, its still diablo 2.

LMFAO@EBAY

Someone must have complained or something, they took it off. It was going for $15 000, I was disgusted but man I'm glad that was taken off...

Here is how power acting goes... You can still take the tp to cats 4 right away, in act 2 you need to go through the palace to arcane, which means you have to collect staff. In Act3 you need to go to travincial (through tp if you get someone) and kill the council, which will drops the will (which doesn't matter because you can take a tp to level 3 as soon as you see it drop). Act4 has no restrictions either, you can go straight to pandeminium(sp?) fortress (through tp), and in act5 you need to take a town portal to ancients way before you can go to worldstone2.

You need to be level (20 * diff, 1 for norm, 2 for nm, 3 for hell) to get credit for ancients quest and the ability to enter the worldstone keep as well.
November 21, 2003, 10:05 PM
Soul Taker
Or you can just join public games where people are killing the bosses, stay in town, and leech the quest, like I do.

That's just to get ancients.

Like I said already, you can get a tp to the ancients way right after beating diablo, and after you go into the ancients way you can take a tp to worldstone2 right away. Don't even bother trying to argue that because I've done it on 5 different characters.

Alright I dont have the game anymore but I have 12 accounts that are all level 86 ++, all chars are geared up, I got 7 mule accounts, I got about 7 unid WF, 6 unid GF's, 4 unid tal rasha sets, 13 unid shakos (some o.8 which are the best), 9 unid titens.
And no Im not giving away. Maybe when I buy the game again then maybe.

Diablo II used to be a great game and one I played a lot. The patch completely ruined it. Sorcs do 0 dmg while paladins can kill you from far away with 1 shot. Plus ladder items aren't worth anything on ebay and only non ladder items are good. Frankly D2 is old and so I quit playin.

Sorc's are great, some builds of palidans are overpowered till about level 70, and their ranged damange is max of 500 (avg 250) lightning, ladders sell better than anything, and ladder/non-ladder are the same, except ladder has a lot that non-ladder doesn't have. And nobody's posted in this thread in over 3 months.

Thank you for flaunting your ignorance.

There isn't one. Unless you count that pre-1.1 characters can't play on the ladder, so as of 1.1 everybody had to make new characters. But I don't mind, starting fresh was fun.

And the characters aren't automatically reset at some point in time or something? Maybe they are turned into regular characters at the end of a ladder season?

That would anger a lot of people, so probably not.

The reason for the "ladder" play is that 1.1 (tried) to eliminate duping and hacking, and they wanted people to have fresh characters, so they added another mode of play so people can play without worrying about hacking going on.

Whenever blizzard decides to end the ladder season, yes, the charactes will be turned into non-ladder characters and the ladder will be fresh again. I remember seeing this asked many many times on the battle.net forums.

hmm, that's going to be really horrible, then. At least the ladder-specific items will be extremely valuable...
March 8, 2004, 8:06 PM
j0k3r
Not horrible, good. The point of ladder is to be in competition, and already I'm seem people with the most elite gear possible on every character, but no 99s yet (hardcore useast ladder), so there is SOMETHING left but not alot. Once it resets everyone will be equal again and the race will start over.

I personally like the idea because it means that ladder items on ebay go back up in value.

Naw they sucked in 1.09, now they kick ass again.

Patches don't piss people off, it's the content change that pisses people off. Even then, they're not pissed about the whole thing, just 1 or 2 things they weren't expecting, I'm sure alot of them were overjoyed to see the patch being downloaded (and complained about it not being there for months in advance).

People complain at every change. People have been abusing abusable things, and when they can no longer abuse, they're unhappy.

Obviously, everyone will go for the one single path that is unbalancedly best, and when Blizzard does something about balancing, relatively increasing monster toughness and the efficiency of other builds, people will complain.

There are literally millions of active players on Battle.net, and there are typically > 100K on at any given time. I would have to say that even a few hundred people complaining in Open Tech Support or the Battle.net forums represents a tiny minority.
