Adron | Aha, Brazilians? The faq on the site says:
Where does this software come from? The software is shipped from Eastern Europe.
And since Eastern Europe has the reputation for producing good pirated copies of software, that made a lot of sense... | August 11, 2003, 4:00 PM |
Naem | FAQ:
Q: I have problems installing Windows XP Pro Service Pack (Office XP Pro Service Pack)
Gee, I wonder why anyone would have trouble installing the XP service pack... oh, right, Microsoft blocks popular pirated XP keys from installing the SP's. | August 11, 2003, 6:35 PM |
Adron | You really think so? :P But they are so nice to offer you a service pack that you can download from their site ;) | August 11, 2003, 6:41 PM |
Thing | Further poking provided me with the following info: 1. They ask you to enter a Credit Card number on a non-SLL connection. 2. When you get to the confirmation screen during the checkout process, there is an actual domain listed oem-cdroms-order.com 3. They use ecashpay.com to process the cards. 4. Using a bogus CC number did not return an error. I wonder if I'll get my CD ::) | August 11, 2003, 7:02 PM |
Raven | Incase you do, tell us. ;) | August 11, 2003, 7:20 PM |
Eibro |
Microsoft MSDN Library 2002 January N/A Retail price: $270.99 Our low Price: $200.00 You Save: $220.00
Hmm, $270.99 - $200.00 = $220.00? | August 11, 2003, 7:21 PM |
Adron | What's the cheapest CD they sell? $9.95? Still a little expensive to try just for the heck of it... | August 11, 2003, 7:28 PM |
drake | Ha if you don't and they threaten you because of faking Credit Card Numbers, they can't do anything cause they arent' doing anything legal themselves. Kind of interesting, scamming the scammer. | August 11, 2003, 9:53 PM |
