how exactly do you import items into closed bnet for diablo 2. does anyone know how to program such a thing? does anyone know what it would involve?

What?  You can't "import" items from open to closed...you have to FIND them while playing.

Character info on Diablo II is stored solely on the server. The entire game interaction is on the server. Importing on closed Battle.net is literally an impossibility.
