Alendar | Yes, I am pretty sure there are. StealthBot uses them. As does SphtBot v3. | April 15, 2008, 4:26 AM |

Alendar | Yes, that's pretty much what I was looking for but I want to know the contents of war3-icons.bni and w3xp-icons.bni as well. I can't scale those to size either, they become very ugly. | April 15, 2008, 4:51 AM |

Alendar | I have seen those, they are nice but I do not like the border on them. Thanks though. | April 15, 2008, 5:25 AM |

Barabajagal | Or... just shrink the ones on the official site. For instance, is 55 by 38 pixels. All you have to do is shrink it to 20x14 , which is the correct ratio, then add another 8 pixels of black space to the right, and if you want, put the level number there. it's easy. | April 15, 2008, 6:21 AM |
But that's terrible quality and would take an extraordinary amount of time (there's like 60 icons). blizzard does have "official" small icons which are 28x18, that are used on pages like ladder rankings I downloaded all of these and created a bnet icon file several years ago: http://www.valhallalegends.com/spht/files/icons.zip In Sphtbotv3, to preserve quality, all the legacy icons remain 28x14, whereas war3 icons are 26x18 http://www.valhallalegends.com/spht/images/sphtbotv3_war3icons.gif http://www.valhallalegends.com/spht/images/sphtbotv3_war3level.gif | April 15, 2008, 11:32 AM |
Alendar | How would I open those files? I am guessing since they are bigger then the normal icons that is why IconViewer can't open the file. | April 15, 2008, 5:33 PM |
IconViewer can't read the icons-war3.bni because it is actually an MPQ not a bni file | April 15, 2008, 5:38 PM |
Alendar | Well, in the past I tried to open it using an MPQ viewer and it told me it is an invalid file. Do I need a list file for the MPQ viewer or how would I go about opening the file? | April 15, 2008, 5:42 PM |
Spht | What i linked to are not mpq files, they are regular icon files. the reason skywing's iconview won't open them is because it refuses to work with any icon files that battle.snp would refuse to load or crash on In this case, it doesn't like the dimensions used, so i recommend you use another program for reading the icons or hack iconview to accept any dimensions. in any case, why would you be trying to open them in iconview anyway? i posted them so that your bot can use them without having to hassle with anything. if your bot doesn't support reading battle.net icon files, then download them all from the batte.net website and include them in your exe as bitmaps or however you kids are doing things...andy don't tell me how long it took you to download all those pictures, resize them, and add borders. please tell me someone paid you to do it | April 15, 2008, 7:36 PM |
Barabajagal | Heh... Actually I wrote a quick app to do it in VB... | April 15, 2008, 7:59 PM |

Thank you, Alendar
Spht posted some bni files, you could easy clip the header and rename them to .tga. Anyway, extracted these from my bots archive file: http://d2bot.cjb.net/w3bni.zip Those are 2 bni files with w3roc/w3tft 28 by 14 icons. Might be worth noteing, the bni version is 5 and the image/data is BMP, not TGA (my bni parser supports multiple image formats, just for the hell of it, and bmp compress's better into an archive) Heres the bmp's, as well as some others: Hope this helps edit: some more icons here why we are on the subject | April 16, 2008, 3:11 AM |
JoeTheOdd | Why doesn't Spht use capitalization anymore? | April 16, 2008, 6:52 AM |
Alendar | Thank you very much Ringo, I am pretty sure that's what I was looking for. :D Joe, why do spam my topic with non-sense like that? | April 16, 2008, 7:00 AM |
