Myndfyr | Part of patch 1.15.2 was that you could host your own Starcraft leagues by building an MPQ with the Starcraft LDK. Has anyone requested one and actually received one? I've requested three times and haven't gotten shit. | February 6, 2008, 5:11 PM |
Ringo | same. I got tired and just compiled my own, by picking apart WGT's mpq (kinda sucks tho, never did anything with it nore found half the stuff out thats ment to be going on out) The whole system is kinda a joke if i remember rightly, clients connect to the web server every 5 seconds and request teh icon stats of every user in the channel. :/ Its not a reall MPQ tho, so its not to hard to do. Hit me a pm if you want some crappy vb code to pick apart the format. From what i remember the ini's/pcx's have to be a fixed lengh, but thats probly cos i was missing somthing. Welcome to it if you want it. Im guessing blizzard want it to be for authorized partys only, if so, screw them tbh. Edit: N/m, created a new topic in the bot dev forum: https://davnit.net/bnet/vL/index.php?topic=17302.0 Dunno if thats any use to you. Shouldnt need blizzard for this tbh. fuck them =D I was gonner post that when 1.15 came out, but it must have totaly slipped my mind. | February 6, 2008, 5:29 PM |
Oh, kinda pointless me posting a start to the file format then i guess. :P I should really check battle.net for updates more often. Must have tolk them ages to get round to unloading that? | February 6, 2008, 7:29 PM |
Barabajagal | No, it doesn't compile the MPQs... you send them the stuff and they make the MPQ for you. It's lame. | February 6, 2008, 8:16 PM |
Ringo | urg, kk If you can link me to a few other MPQ's (none-WGT) i will spend 5min and create a open source league mpq compiler. Just need a few differnt mpq's so i can identify the missing bits of the puzzle (in a fashionable time) | February 6, 2008, 11:44 PM |
Barabajagal | http://realityripple.com/software/freeware/BNF/ and... bnftp://uswest.battle.net/lockdown-IX86-00.mpq bnftp://uswest.battle.net/ver-ix86-1.mpq bnftp://uswest.battle.net/STAR_IX86_1xx_1152.mpq There's a few for ya. (Or did you mean League-specific MPQ's?) Edit: Can't make them links on here, sorry. | February 7, 2008, 12:31 AM |
Yes please =) The only one i know of atm, is http://www.wgtour.com/installer/WGTmpq.zip Based on that, I can build them matching its lengh of file/images/ini etc, but as soon as i try compile one with images that dont match the lenghs of that, SC wont parse it/show up in the league menu, so i have to snip or pad the images, which can look abit ewwy depending on the colors used (compression based) I did a quick search of google, and only see talk of the wgtour.mpq, so im going to take a wild guess that WGTour is the only one they have authorized, but i havent exacly looked hard. Verying the image sizes would make a perfect compiler, but untill then its snip and cut image data :( | February 7, 2008, 12:50 AM |
