Antarctica | Hey, does anyone have a good fix about the 'lockdown' mpq files recentely added to the StarCraft version check? I haven't seen an update for the BNCSutil.dll yet. I hope they put the fix in the BNCSutil.dll. Someone tell me what is needed to get online with StarCraft (other than BNLS). | December 1, 2006, 5:29 PM |

Antarctica | Well, I would surely like to know what it is. :-\ (Visual Basic 6, by the way) | December 1, 2006, 5:32 PM |
bethra | Skywing isn't disclosing the information to the public. | December 1, 2006, 6:44 PM |
Antarctica | No fair. Why can't he give us an updated version of BNCSutil.dll?? ;) | December 1, 2006, 8:48 PM |
FrostWraith | He isn't the author of BNCSUtil, plus I would be shocked if he even used BNCSUtil, as it has been rendered for the most part useless (?) for clients on lockdown. | December 1, 2006, 8:52 PM |
Antarctica | True. :'( PS: Who ever is the author of BNCSutil.dll, get off your ass and fix it! | December 1, 2006, 8:53 PM |
BaDaSs | Eric (The author of BNCSutil.dll) released ownership of the project to the public. The source code is available on the BNCSutil website. He no longer works on it so don't expect it to be fixed ;) | December 1, 2006, 9:34 PM |
Kp | Antarctica, since you have such a pressing need to have this fixed, why do you not fix it yourself? | December 2, 2006, 4:30 AM |
replaced | someone fix it PLS PlS PLS Pls pls plss :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( | December 2, 2006, 4:44 AM |

Kp | I suppose someone could put together a shim that exposes the BNCSUtil interface and calls BNLS for its backend work. ;) | December 2, 2006, 5:58 AM |

[/quote] As I interpret the postings here, all the people whining about wanting to use BNCSUtil are incapable of creating that shim, much less creating a freestanding (i.e. not BNLS backed) library for passing lockdown. That's really pretty sad considering I spent ~5 minutes to make a command line BNLS client a week or so back, and it worked the first time. Obviously, it is single threaded and blocking, but it proves that the basic concept is trivial to implement. | December 2, 2006, 6:11 PM |

Antarctica: BNCSUtil is useless as of now, except for hashing. You have two choices, Use BNLS or update BNCSUtil yourself because the author is now inactive and released the source public. Antarctica | Sooo, does anyone have a working bncsutil.dll? I don't know enough programming to fix it my self. :( | January 15, 2007, 2:33 PM |
Ante | no. i can't find the source code for bncsutil because the only site (that i found on google) that has it is down | February 3, 2007, 6:37 PM |
BreW | I have the source code to BNCSUtil, its a bit outdated though. And someone, please ban topaz. All she does is troll. **edit i just realized i have the source to bnetauth, not bncsutil lol | February 4, 2007, 1:52 AM |
Topaz | I occasionally help people who deserve helping. You on the other hand don't have a single original thought in your head, as all of your posts have demonstrated | February 4, 2007, 1:56 AM |
MyStiCaL | I've got the source. | February 4, 2007, 4:26 AM |
BreW | It's not for MBNCSUtil, right? Haha, and anyone who feels up to "patching" BnetAuth.dll, I have the source just PM me. But mystical, hook me up man. I can't seem to find the source to bncsutil anywhere. | February 5, 2007, 9:23 PM |
MyStiCaL | Yeah I can hook it up, just hit me up or wait till i post it up on my server somewhere. | February 5, 2007, 10:30 PM |
BreW | Thx man | February 5, 2007, 11:38 PM |
