Aridin | As reacently posted on EN (http://www.expectnothing.com/en/index.php?page=story&post=992) the engine that powers that site, Acervus, is now up for GPL download. Acervus Publisher is a blog engine built on a flexible and easy to follow code base. Providing all the required features of a powerful blog and adding user accounts with levels, news queuing, comment queuing, subscriptions, polls, easy html templates with CSS support, mobile versions and much more beyond the traditional blog publishing tools. Those in know of PHP/MySQL will find a easy to extend and customize engine suitable to a wide variety of applications. The code is perfect for clans and groups looking to create and limit levels of permission. The inital info page is up at: http://www.fudged.org/acervus/index.php?page=story&post=28 Thanks, hopefully this was the correct place to post this item. | June 9, 2003, 10:36 PM |
Invert | It's a nice tool for weblog sites. I have not looked at the code yet but the functionality of it seems nice from what I see on sites that run it. Valhalla Legends won't run this since we have our own system. | June 10, 2003, 4:23 AM |
Aridin | Thanks! As for the code, well for the most part it's laid out very well, being very self taught PHP/MySQL I am curious to see what others would think of it. It's been a long time since I let a code package go out there. But that is exactly why I did to get advice, see how it can grow, get better. A version of it runs on a private Intranet, heavily changed to implement Helpdesk style features. The "Quickie PHP/MySQL tips, little-known to most" thread already has me planning to fix the database connect. :) | June 10, 2003, 8:01 AM |
Invert | Keep us posted, I might convert my personal site to use your blog tool. :P | June 10, 2003, 10:39 AM |
