kamakazie | Anyone taken this? I have been looking into graduate schools lately and it seems a lot of them require the GRE along with the CS subject test (I plan on continuing with CS). How much preparation should I put into it? I get the feeling that it is similar to the SAT in that the questions are not particularly difficult, but in order to do well on the test it is a matter of learning how to take it. Any other tips/suggestions/etc? | July 23, 2006, 5:45 AM |
Myndfyr | I wish I'd studied more for the verbal portion; it kicked my ass, and I think it was at least in part due to the fact that I hadn't studied at all for the GRE (I registered for it 2 days before I took it IIRC). However, I kicked both the math and writing portions' asses. The verbal section is weird wordplay, so if that kind of thing doesn't bother you, you can probably not worry too much about it (IMO it's much more complex than the SAT's were). I also thought that it was harder than the comparative portion of the LSAT. /shrug | July 23, 2006, 6:37 AM |
