Mephisto | Why is it when I get a call on my cell phone that my amp speakers suddenly make a wierd noise? I've also heard it happen to my TV, and sometimes my speakers make the noise when I use my cell phone (text messaging); but it's mainly when I receive/send calls that it constantly makes the noise. zzzzzz | June 6, 2006, 7:27 PM |
Trance | It's electromagnetic interference, usually it's with GSM phones. The fields generated by the phone induces a current in wires. I heard some TDMA phones do it too, but I can't confirm. | June 6, 2006, 8:26 PM |

MysT_DooM | i think it also might be bad for your tv and speakers. cause if i remember correctly, somewhere i heard that it can damage the screen of ur tv, like ya know how sometimes theres a greenish darkish shadow things growing on the side of the screen, i think it might cause that.. either that or a magnetic something, i forget | June 7, 2006, 12:06 AM |
Trance | Yeah magnetic fields in general are very bad for your TV. | June 7, 2006, 1:16 AM |
Mephisto | I guess it explains why my amp speakers are so broken and work so sporatically. | June 7, 2006, 2:11 AM |
Trance | As far as I know it's not going to destroy your speakers. | June 7, 2006, 2:33 AM |

JoeTheOdd | Hehe, when I walk past my radio on the way out of my bedroom it goes all static. Maybe I spend too much time in front of the computer monitor. | June 11, 2006, 1:02 AM |
