You heard right ... it's FREE. No catches no gimmicks. All you have to do is buy an adapter for your computer and be within around 1000 ft of my house. My neighbors on either side of me are already online for the low low price of FREE!!!

Half the earth's circumfrance plus any big hills and such might be a little easier, less digging is involved...

You can buy a case of beer with that much!

You should have a wireless hub (like I'm sure you do), get your neighbours to get wireless hubs, and get their neighbours to do it, until the whole city is one big wireless network. You'd literally be able to see the packets being lost into the void all around you!

I consider that to be a catch thus making this whole deal a gimmick.
