Ishbar | I dont even think we'll be using standard circutry anymore by 2015. :P Something can only run so fast before it reaches its limit | February 12, 2006, 10:04 PM |
LoRd | It seems inefficient to write instructions on how to build a terabyte machine. You'd have to write seperate instructions for each person's space requirements and hardware type. What if I wanted to build a 1.5 TB system using only SCSI or IDE drives? I couldn't. I'd have to find new instructions. Perhaps this article would be more helpful. | February 12, 2006, 10:21 PM |

peofeoknight | terabyte by 2015? try 07 or 08 easy. I mean it isnt exactly a technical or financial hurdle to get that extra space. Hell I wouldnt be supprised if hard disks are obsolete by 2015... they are making some amazing advances in flash memory capacity, which is of course much more durable and fast. | March 6, 2006, 5:44 AM |

[/quote] I think you use 'obsolete' too easily. I know that three years my school still used Apple II's for keyboarding class. But yeah, I don't think they'll be mainstream anymore. | March 6, 2006, 6:50 AM |
peofeoknight | just because they are still used by some doesn't mean they aren't obsolete. Id consider any intel box prior to p3 to be obsolete. | March 8, 2006, 1:29 AM |
