DM, this is what I was talking about:

Here's the ACC release on it:

ACC Coordinator of Men's Basketball Officials John Clougherty today announced the suspension of the officiating crew that worked Saturday's Florida State at Duke men's basketball game. The technical foul that was called on Florida State's Alexander Johnson in the second half of play should not have been assessed. The technical foul was Johnson's fifth foul and resulted in his disqualification from the contest.

Because of the incorrect assessment and handling of the dead ball technical foul situation, the officials that worked the contest will each be suspended for their next game.

Yeah, that's horrible.

Officials in last night's Gonzaga/St. Mary's game were terrible was well.  Adam Morrison should've fouled out with about 8 minutes left in the game, but they kept giving his fouls to other players.

The ACC has an "old guard" officiating crew, in our conspiracy viewpoint.  Since FSU joined the conference these officials have done everything in their power to balance the table between what they view as the "real ACC" (the 8 teams existing prior to FSU joining) and the teams that joined later.  This is measurable and has been measured/documented over the years.  How do you measure and make a conclusion?  Easy.

Penalties can either be subjective or objective.  The objective penalties are ones such as delay of game, illegal participation, offsides.  Subjective penalties are holding, illegal blocking, unsportsmanlike conduct, and so forth.  When comparing penalties between FSU and UF, the two teams receive the relative balanced number of both types of penalties.  Compare ACC teams against other ACC teams (old guard only here, such as NC State vs North Carolina), there is still balance.  But put FSU in a game vs any ACC-OldGuard team, and the officiating takes over.  FSU subjective penalties go way up.  ACC subjective penalties go way down.  Teams like Wake Forest might average 4-6 subjective penalties a week vs other foes, but in a game vs FSU, suddenly they play perfect in terms of subjective penalties.

This is true of any ACC old guard team in a game vs FSU.  It's for those reasons that so many feel ACC officiating is corrupt and has always been corrupt.  We are not guessing.
