Fred Rouse and his roommate Lewis, gone a few days back.

The only official statement is that they were dismissed from the team for violating team rules.  Good riddance.

The speculation is that since Bobby Bowden is known to give second chances for minor problems and that being kicked from the team comes from violating the same rules twice, it follows this was such a case.  IF that is true, then it was likely marijuana, since both Rouse and Lewis were roommates and had a prior with smoking pot, they were already "on probation" with team rules.
