I am going to remove my small site from our desktop computer (because I was told to) & am currently looking around for a good host. Can anyone recommend a good host that is cheap with a reliable uptime.

I need nothing crazy, maybe a few mysql dbs, a domain, FTP acces, etc.

[/quote]Yep!  I was on JT-Networks and then moved to Advahost, for no apparent reason.  They are essentially the same company, but run off different boxes.

www.freewebs.com can do that.
They have uploads but you have to pirate the program.
Recommend getting cute Ftp and a serial free off of www.limewire.com 's p2p program.

Yeah.  I'm gonna try and bum a reseller account off him.  Then me and Warnugget could have our own hosting......off his box, of course.

I give my vote to darkstarllc.com. I had an account for a few months and they had remarkable live help. They would respond by email within a single 24 hour period. If I got them on the live chat I had instant help - which was 3 out of 4 times that I tried.

I really enjoyed using darkstarllc and if I ever feel the need to purchase a host again (which I am looking into it again soon), I will most definitely choose them.

I host that, as my reseller. I also run http://www.advahost.com if you are of need of a good service. My JT1-Orion server (quad xeon) is in Atlanta, GA; and my backup server (and failsafe) is located in Dallas, TX.

O wait, maybe it did, lumicorp is a joke though, I sold that guy my accounts, at the time, on that server, and he doesn't manage things well. That's why all my former and his current clientel have switched back to me, Hopefully my service was good for you. :)

Yea he hasnt charged me for about a month of service.

Signed up for AdvaHost, turns out they have Zend Optimized so my clan site should run well..
If anyone is looking for a host I'd reccomend Advahost, they have friendly technicians and I was able to get my account setup quickly. Also, you can't beat the prices  :)
