MrRaza | I have a laptop here that is an Intel Pentium M processor 1.86Ghz, with an AMI BIOS version 0201. There is no floppy drive on the laptop. Any suggestions would be very helpful, the BIOS is over a year old. | October 17, 2005, 10:03 PM |

MrRaza | is usb even recongized at this point in boot up? | October 17, 2005, 10:17 PM |
Elneroth | I think it's possible on some Bios's to select a USB External Floppy as a bootup device. But since you are upgrading yours, I'm betting it's old. | October 17, 2005, 10:20 PM |
MrRaza | Hmm, i'll look into some more tonight, i don't really want to buy a external floppy, and im not sure where to borrow one if possible, maybe i can ask around, but think of some other possibilities. That is if you want. | October 17, 2005, 10:24 PM |
Myndfyr | Psh don't be cheap. My old laptop (~3 years) recognized an external USB floppy as a regular boot device (as if it were attached to the ATA bus). I didn't need to do anything to get it to boot an external USB floppy. And the external drive itself was only ~US$10. | October 17, 2005, 11:15 PM |
MrRaza | wow, really only 10 dollars or so eh. Didn't realize that, alright thanks for the advice. | October 17, 2005, 11:51 PM |
