I used an extremely easy password on a test account. Password was "1234" and it still rejected it, any ideas?

hurm, What bot are you using?
It should be hashing it correctly.. FO/SB/SphtBot/Kilened all work fine...

What client?

If WC3, you need to make sure your sending BNLS 0x0D and that your sending 0x53 correctly.
