Topaz | lol, hismajesty didn't read the entire thing. The motherboard comes with a processor, which is why its that expensive. | July 24, 2005, 6:38 PM |
hismajesty | Oh! Darn. | July 24, 2005, 6:44 PM |
NocBrute | Where can i get it cheaper? I was going to buy the Mach Viper mobo/2.0ghz amdathlon64 processor for 150. But they changed processor speed & priced it higher. But the question is will those parts work together. And where can i get it cheaper tell me please, i dont have alot of time to look for parts because i dont have a comp to order them from. I have to go to a LanPlace and then order it. | July 27, 2005, 8:23 PM |
Topaz | That motherboard is terrible, especially with such a good processor. Anyway: Motherboard http://www.chiefvalue.com/app/productdetails.asp?submit=&item=13-128-281&ATT=Motherboards&CMP=OTC-pr1c3watch Processor http://3btech.net/amdatxp30ba4.html You might find a better looking/usable case @ www.3btech.net Use the zalman cooling system instead, its worth the extra money. http://www.3gplaza.com/estore/control/Computer3G/productdetails?id=35813&srccode=PW You'll need this for setup on the zalman: http://zalman.co.kr/product/view_flash.asp?strFlash=/upload/product/CNPS7000B.swf The video card's a piece of shit too, but... http://3btech.net/panvgefx128x2.html | July 27, 2005, 10:55 PM |
NocBrute | bad timing. i already ordered the mobo/proccessor , case , cooling system. Dam man. Thanks for the help topaz ill use the rest of the info you gave me. :-) edit: can you find better video/memory etc thats compatible with the things that i bought?. | July 29, 2005, 8:56 PM |
Topaz | Assuming you're hitting for the most affordable RAM, : 512 (x2) sticks, 81$ http://www.buyaib.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=713 512 stick, 41$ http://www.ms4me.com/oem51pc40ddr.html If it's a gaming machine, go with the 512x2, your computer will appreciate the extra kick. | July 29, 2005, 9:43 PM |
NocBrute | cant i just get 2x1gb sticks?, and i plan to save up later and buy 1x 1gb stick more. i have a 184-pin 512srddr stick @ home stored. can i do this 1gb - slot 1gb - slot 512 - slot since it can store up to 3gb. ill do 2.5, then save up n buy another stick.? replace .5 with a 1gb stick ;)i can afford it.. | July 29, 2005, 10:21 PM |
Topaz | Well, you seemed to spend rather sparsely on everything else. Memory sticks won't do much for games and photo-editing, just stability. If I were you, I'd send back the video card, buy a better one, and purchase to 512(x2) sticks I recommended. | July 29, 2005, 10:37 PM |
crankycefx | What are you talking about? RAM will do plenty for games and photo editing. Get 2 more sticks of 512. You need to factor in CAS latencies as well. If you want lots of slow ass RAM then by all means, but chances are what you're looking for is some CAS 2 latency ram, 512 x 2. Anything more than that and you're almost wasting it. Of course, with windows, it whores up most of your ram anyways so maybe more is better. Opt for some Crucial CAS 2 ram. Or OCZ. Remember. LOW LATENCY. Or you'll just have a lot of really slow RAM.....which would be good for a server....but most likely you're running Windows XP or Vista and you don't want that kind of RAM. | August 1, 2005, 1:19 AM |
Topaz | You don't benefit much with 2.5gigs of RAM. Again, I suggest the 512's | August 1, 2005, 5:57 PM |
NocBrute | who said i bought the video card and the memory? if you look @ my reply. i said that i bought the Case : 40$ Mobo w/ Proc : 150 Fan/Cooler : 10$ + S&H --------------------------- 228 I still have 400 left for Video Card Memory Monitor Im gonna get some more money, if needed to buy Razor Diamondback mouse/Mousepad around 65$. thanks for the posts so ill buy the video card topaz recommended the memory, maybe some overclocking 512x3 sticks ( i have max3gb/3slots. ) w/ CaS latency. Or w/e cefx- was talking about, thanks cefx-. Anyone know where i can get a LCD 17", CRT 21" cheap. Im looking for 17"lcd or a 21"crt. | August 1, 2005, 9:14 PM |
Rule |
You don't benefit much with 2.5gigs of RAM. Again, I suggest the 512's
That really depends on what you're using the computer for. I would like far more ram than 2.5 gigs for some of the applications I program. | August 1, 2005, 9:32 PM |
NocBrute | what does a 14yr old person, with a headsets, cs;cz and games, do? game :D im making a gaming machine. Like hismajesty told me, to get a sound card. Im gonna build the basics. Then later on save some money up and buy up a soundcard, and upgrade etc. :-)! | August 1, 2005, 10:03 PM |
jigsaw | holy shit rule, I have a 16mb IBM laptop, what do you need 2.5 gigs for? | August 1, 2005, 10:55 PM |
