CrAz3D | http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855150034 I'm currently lookin @ that (or a smaller version of it) iRiver. Anyone know of something similar in price & function? | May 5, 2005, 2:44 AM |
KoRRuPT | Although I don't listen to enough music to waste my money on a MP3 player, iRiver's are still nice. | May 5, 2005, 3:05 AM |

Topaz | iRiver's ugly. Get a Muvo Slim : http://nomadworld.com/products/muvo_slim/ | May 5, 2005, 3:47 AM |
LW-Falcon | 256mb vs 40gb... yea I think I'd go with the iRiver. | May 5, 2005, 3:51 AM |
CrAz3D |
link=topic=11490.msg111118#msg111118 date=1115265095] 256mb vs 40gb... yea I think I'd go with the iRiver.
I TOTALLY agree, I have a PDA that has a 512 memory card in it...why would I use a 256 mp3 player? | May 5, 2005, 3:58 AM |
KoRRuPT | http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore?family=iPodPhoto Mm... yes, just what everyone wants 60 GB of songs ( 15,000 songs ) for the awesome price of $449.00!!! | May 5, 2005, 4:40 AM |
CrAz3D | Syncing, hmm. I like the idea of drag 'n' drop of the iRiver. 60 gigs sounds way nice though! Any idea if it can play videos? ....iTunes, I don't want to HAVE to have iTunes :( | May 5, 2005, 4:54 AM |
hismajesty | You don't have to have iTunes unless you plan on buying from iTunes. <3Anapod Explorer | May 5, 2005, 10:37 AM |
CrAz3D | Well, you still need some sort of syncing program...that I don't care for so much. How fast can you transfer to the iPod? | May 5, 2005, 2:48 PM |
Nabeshin | Even though I do not like apple, I would have to say the "best buy" overall would have to be an Ipod for a strict MP3 player. But then again I own a PSP and use that for my MP3 player (good gaming device, poor MP3 player unless you go out and buy a +$150 card for 1 gig). But if you don't mind the price (plus $150 for the 1G Memory Stick), and you don't mind transcoding video (will play MP3's w/o transcoding), and you like the games, I would go with a PSP. But, if I were you. either the iRiver or an Ipod would be good. | May 5, 2005, 4:22 PM |
CrAz3D | Alright. I was thinkin a PSP might be cool to play games on...but that means I'd have to buy games & the such, not so cool. Now to decided between 40 gig for $380 & 20 gig for $285. Will I ever need the extra 20 gigs? 20 gigs for $100 is a pretty good dealio. | May 5, 2005, 5:09 PM |
Fr0z3N | When my shitty mp3 player ever goes, or I ever sell it, I'll definatly be buying an iPod. I regetted buying my current one so much 256MB 52 songs. Sucks. I listen to like 60 songs in 1 school day. Edit: Also iPod's spin wheel is to die for, you can just browse through songs while still listening to another song instead of going next...next...next. till oyu find your song. | May 5, 2005, 7:59 PM |
JoeTheOdd | iPod's spin wheel rocks. You can use it with Winamp, using an iPod plugin (out of date with latest iPod patch?), which I've used before. My iPod is currently functioning as a paperweight, but its never failed me when I wanted to use it. | May 5, 2005, 9:01 PM |
peofeoknight | I have a 40gig nomad zen xtra and I love it. http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855102123 that is the 60... cant find the 40. If I were buying one now I might get the touch though http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855102205 My mp3 player is built like a tank. It survived a car accident infact. It flew out of my cup holder and cracked my windsheild and was still playing. | May 5, 2005, 9:16 PM |

CrAz3D | hmm, very snazzy...I hope I don't regret this purchase...if I don't like it I can always send it back (I hope) | May 5, 2005, 10:11 PM |
Myndfyr | I wouldn't buy an MP3 player at this point, but I got an iRiver SlimX back when MP3-CDs were getting popular. The great thing about iRiver is that they'll keep you updated -- when Windows Media Format 9 (I don't understand the versions, either) came out, they released a firmware update to play the new files. | May 5, 2005, 11:26 PM |
CrAz3D | That is what i liked about the iRiver. Plays music & vids (with correct firmware) & displays jpg/bmp files. | May 5, 2005, 11:31 PM |
Mitosis | Just get a PSP and run music off of that :) | May 6, 2005, 12:09 AM |
CrAz3D | But can I use my PSP as a portable harddrive then? Do I have 40 gigs of AWESOME space? I could play games, but that only means I'd have to buy games which is why I never bought an xbox/gamecube. I have like 9 computer games & maybe 7 N64 games | May 6, 2005, 12:22 AM |

Do you have usb 2.0? | May 6, 2005, 2:54 AM |
CrAz3D | Convert CD to w/e format & transfer to iPod in 30 seconds, hmm. Average 15 songs per CD so 1 song converted & transfered in 2 seconds. That is crazy now that I think of it. | May 6, 2005, 2:56 AM |
hismajesty |

link=topic=11490.msg111194#msg111194 date=1115329562]
Well, you still need some sort of syncing program...that I don't care for so much. CrAz3D | DAMN YOU iRIVER! I get 1 that don't work, I send it back & get a new 1 that don't work....so now I'm gettin an iPod. Do I want the SLIGHTLY cheaper HP iPod or the Apple iPod? | May 13, 2005, 4:42 PM |
LW-Falcon | Apple one | May 14, 2005, 3:06 AM |
hismajesty | They're the same thing, only the HP one has the HP logo. It's just a deal with Apple/HP that makes HP bundle iTunes with their computers so consumers think "Well, I have iTunes and it rocks so I need an iPod for compatibility." | May 14, 2005, 6:34 AM |
CrAz3D | k.... Yay 30 gig iPod photo for $320! | May 15, 2005, 7:36 PM |
