Ban | So, after surfing the net for awhile, I have seen what appears to be an increasingly large number of ads for Vonage. Specificially their "Broadband Phone Company" stuff. (VoIP). Does anyone have any info on other companies/competitors or how well Vonage handles their VoIP stuff? | March 21, 2005, 4:09 PM |
KkBlazekK | I like skype. Its free over the internet and looks to be the same as Vonage. It also has pretty good audio quality (Same as my landline phone). | March 21, 2005, 8:45 PM |
VoIP is a protocol that stands for "Voice-over-IP" or "Voice-over-Internet-Protocol" if you want to be technically mundane. Skype is a program that lets you use a microphone to talk over the internet, but also use the internet to call non-internet phone numbers.
I make a point of not getting anything I see in ads. Or clicking ads.
God forbid someone try to make money by selling something! DIE CAPITALIST PIGS! Er, I think I'm going to go advertise Slackware on Slashdot, just so that iago will feel dirty using it. :P | March 22, 2005, 12:24 AM |
kamakazie | My mom has ATT Callvantage. Is pretty nice. Unlimited calling (local and long distance). I like it because you can do everything on the internet. Can listen to voicemails and setup new phone numbers among other fun stuff. Certainly worth the monthly charge if you make a lot of calls. | March 22, 2005, 12:43 AM |

Ban | So in otherwords, noone here has tried Vonage. (Please try to stay on topic, we could perhaps discuss iago's hate for ads in another topic ^.-) | March 22, 2005, 3:41 PM |
