Can someone briefly explain some of the generalities of Warcraft III Game Protocol and answer the question of whether the game packets are routed to Battle.net first and then the user or directly between the game's host and the users in the game?

Custom games are player<->player (is possible to play custom game without being on Battle.net)
Ladder games are player<->game server<->player

So it's possible to get the user's IP in a custom game?  And if what you say is true, how is it possible for a custom game (on Battle.net) to be maintained when the host leaves?

There is no "host" once the game has started. IIRC it's just a continuous sending of packets between all the players.

Yes. I didn't say anything about the host, but a connection must be established between each and every player in the game or else you may get dropped (everyone else disconnects from you)

Okay, it was my understanding from your first post that everything is sent to the host first and then the host redistributes the packets to everyone else (like the host was the Battle.net server for the custom game).

Of course you can get IPs in custom games, they have to connect to the host to get into the game lobby.

Yeah, i've heard about people wanting IPS when they join the game. First thing that came to my mind was hacking. Im pretty sure you can hack somebody if you get there ip.

If this person wouldnt mind, could he explain what he plans to do when he gets people Ips? :D

Let me straighten this out.  This is a bot development forum.

Oh noes. Really do you think he would publicly reveal a scheme (if he had one) to make some sort of Battle.net Hack/Exploit/whatever. Even though I doubt you could do much just from an IP. Nothing to wet your pants about.
