peofeoknight | holy crap, that is a ton of money. I fail to see how this is going to pay for it's self. | February 19, 2005, 12:52 AM |
hismajesty | If you read the auction description, so far the site has made $0. Though, I agree, with that many hits they could make a lot off of advertising. | February 19, 2005, 12:59 AM |
KkBlazekK | When IPChicken.com goes on eBay it will be a big thing, but not this. | February 19, 2005, 1:18 AM |
hismajesty | I personally find $37,000 for a domain name to be a pretty big thing. | February 19, 2005, 1:24 AM |
KkBlazekK | How much was america.com going for a while ago? and what about get-a-life.com? Selling domains isn't a big deal.. | February 19, 2005, 1:49 AM |
hismajesty | I don't know, I don't pay attention to the domain market. I used whatismyip a lot more than ipchicken, and I didn't even know what ipchicken was until maybe a year or more after I found whatismyip. | February 19, 2005, 1:52 AM |
KkBlazekK | Well, I guess its more of a deal to you then it is to me. I'm interested into seeing what it turns out being, a big advertisement, or will it stay the same(ish)... | February 19, 2005, 1:57 AM |
Null | There is a pretty huge markey dedicated to domain reselling these days, I saw a story on cnn about a guy/girl who tried to sell www.tsunamirelief.com or something very similiar to that just after the tidal wave in south eastern Asia for around $50,000 USD. Keep your eye out for marketing pitches and subsequently register the according the domain ;) , you might find yourself making alot of money. | February 19, 2005, 9:04 PM |
peofeoknight | yeah, but I heard that there was some sort of scandal with that domain. Like someone bought it and sold it cheap to a person they thought was going to use it for a charitable website and he sold it on ebay for a ton of money or something. ps: the domain is up to about 110,000 now. | February 23, 2005, 12:05 AM |
Fr0z3N | Sold! Winning bid: US $386,100.00 | February 24, 2005, 2:56 AM |
tA-Kane | What's sad is you know the company is probably going to have to use spam/popups to get it all back. What a waste of money. | February 24, 2005, 3:00 AM |
CrAz3D | FREAKIN! I need to make a domain that is INSANELY trendy & then sell it! | February 24, 2005, 3:04 AM |
